Suddenly it rules.
Got to the true last boss on Divine difficulty, had a lot of fun banging my head to some eurobeat while blasting some space mexicans or something.
If you can stomach the boring soundtrack (or find an alternative), Jamestown is alright (for $5), if not a bit too easy (so bullet hell newbies can ease their way into the genre). That final level however is AMAZING. I love how it resorts to other methods other than bullets to kill you. It`s the Bowser`s Castle of shmups.
My only complaint is that the enemies take too many hits to kill. I gotta stream my laser on them for like 5 seconds each. Not enough popcorn and satisfaction. It feels tedious killing most enemies in the game. Then again, I haven`t played any difficulty lower than the highest (non-unlockable) difficulty level, so their health may vary.
Give it a shot or something. Most people like it, and I approve of it in the right conditions.
EDIT: So there`s a True Last Boss (an actual one) if you do the whole game on the hardest difficulty level without dying at all. Okay that`s pretty cool. That will keep me busy.
