I've never owned a Speccy, but I've got two C64s, and one does have a tape deck with it. It's great. Brings back memories.

Yee!

I got a C64 with a tape deck too. Love that system even more! Though my video chip is defective. :( No Creatures or Mayhem in Monsterland for me...

Oh, that "Mayhem in Monsterland" is amazing for a C64 game. The graphics almost look 16-bit. It's a shame about your VIC chip being defective. I love the SID chip on those old machines, there's nothing in the world like it. BTW I've got an Amiga 500, too, and one of those Minimigs, which are really fantastic. I'm a Commodore freak from way back (I grew up with it).:)

Aha yea. My C64 is NTSC and I just happened to get one of those stupid defective chips. I really wanna play Mayhem and Creatures.

And yea the SID is unbeatable.

I want an Amiga 600 but they're kinda rare around here. Unfortunately I never grew up with 8-bit computers. Before I was born we had a Tandy, but then I came along and it was 486 and IBM compatibles for me.

It did allow me to grow up using MS-Paint all my life though... ;)

I actually found an Amiga 1200 with 1MB of RAM at the tip recycling centre. I gave them $20 for it, and they even threw in an original Commodore monitor!!!

Have you ever had the chance to look at one of these? [link]

It's an expansion cartridge for a C64 with built in VIC-II chip for VGA output, but not only that it's an entire C64 system on a FPGA chip. So it doubles as a miniature standalone C64. It's even got a RAM expansion unit (16MB I think).

That's awesome!

Not that cart in particular. The standalone feature is pretty neat. I might look into getting one.

I've got one. It's pretty awesome. Unfortunately, there's no joystick ports, so you can't really play games in standalone mode, but apparently they're releasing a dock for it. Also, the other great thing about it is the PS/2 ports (x2) so you can attach an external keyboard and mouse.:iconemoishappyplz:

yee.

too expensive though.

i'll just get the $25 system locally posted as a replacement. surely the VIC won't suck this time.
