Started off awesome, great premise, was very different and interesting, and then it crapped the bed, became a cookie cutter story, and threw everything it spent the first half of the movie building up out the window as soon as the glitch girl happened.
Wasted potential. *3/10. Way to kill something that coulda been a really exciting and thrilling over-the-top action comedy by turning it into a "by the book" boring formulaic movie by not exploring all the possibilities of your unique setting and forcing yourself to one small little detail that could have been shortened to be a minor point in a large grand scale plot involving the entire arcade, with an actual sense of urgency for the main character instead of having myself snore while he just wrecks every situation like its nothing.
Did you guys even try?!
Heck, even the characters suck, and they seem to switch their disposition on a whim. A lot of the crap isn't even explained either. Like, how on earth does Turbo dude turn into that bug thing in the end? And like. why do the other racers in the candy game hate the glitch girl? They're given zero reasons to, but they're cool with her after she wins the race? It makes no bloody sense.
Also the Nesquik Sand scene was completely unnecessary and the movie would have been exactly the same without it, except the love relationship wouldn't have happened, which woulda had no effect on the movie anyways.
*8/10 before candy-land happened
